The JiveBox has been designed to set the benchmark in ultra compact audio system performance. Whilst turning heads with its stylish design, the JiveBox has been acoustically engineered to deliver an output of 90 Watts RMS previously unheard of in a unit of this size. Patented technologies including a ClassHDTM amplifier and a Hi-X Sub-Woofer have made it possible to achieve its very high acoustic output and deep bass from such a small enclosure. The JiveBox boasts connectivity for all iPod's and other audio devices, DSP Technology, LED Lights and a multi-functional remote control make it the complete sound solution.
Revolutionary Technology
Achieving such a high performance from a small box of only 7¼ inch (18cm) cube requires a bold new approach to compact audio design that utilizes several new technologies in amplification, transduction and signal processing. These new acoustic advancements are all incorporated within the JiveBox.
ClassHDTMAmplifier
Rated at 90 Watts RMS, the ClassHDTM amplifier is not only the most powerful in its class but also the most efficient. The key benefits are a greater dynamic range, less distortion and that the overall size of the amplifier is significantly smaller.
Hi-X Woofer - 5¼inch (130mm)
The JiveBox incorporates a patented Hi-X woofer which produces deeper bass sounds and lower levels of distortion. This revolutionary Sub-Woofer achieves this by delivering twice the excursion distance than that of a non Hi-X sub-woofer of the same size whilst keeping the voice coil robustly centred. Also it utilises an under-hung magnet assembly usually only seen in professional studio monitors, the voice coil remains immersed in a constant magnetic field, offering significantly lower distortion levels and the capability of delivering deeper bass sounds from a more compact subwoofer.
Digital Signal Processor (DSP)
The JiveBox also incorporates a Digital Signal Processor which manages the crossover technology between the satellite drivers, the subwoofer, the equalization (EQ) tasks and all of the driver & system protection protocols. The optimization scheme is a powerful integrated 28 bit DSP + DAC + ADC processor. Using a DSP in such a device is essential to deliver precise control of the many electronic elements featured. The DSP can even match human perceived loudness curves, so that the JiveBox delivers a fuller sound even at very low volume levels.
2.1 Sound System
The JiveBox includes a combination of speakers including 2 Neodymium midrange drivers, 2 tweeters, a Hi-X Sub- Woofer and a passive Hi-X bass radiator. The JiveBox has been arranged in a 2.1 system configuration, with two satellite drivers and a subwoofer. Middle and high frequencies are divided between two stereo channels each with a 3 inch (75mm) Neodymium midrange driver and two 1 inch (25mm) tweeters. Second order Butterworth filters divide the mid and the higher frequency ranges. Additional bass is produced by a tuned Passive Radiator that utilises the full Hi-X suspension technology. Hi-X Sub- Woofer works in conjunction with the Passive Radiator to produce low frequency responses to an amazing 50Hz.
Ingeniously the JiveBox tweeters are positioned on the top/front two corners; this has proved to be ideal in creating greater spatial awareness and preserves the tonal balance whether you are seated in front of or standing above the JiveBox.
Multicolour LED Light Bar
The JiveBox provides a stylish visual effect by utilising an angled LED light bar which divides the top half of the JiveBox from the bottom. Red, green or blue LED's can be activated or deactivated by the remote control and can be dimmed to each user's preference.
Remote Control
The JiveBox comes with a multi-functional remote control. You can control volume, bass, treble, songs, albums and adjust the decorative LED colours and brightness from the comfort of your armchair at the touch of a button.
Connectivity
The JiveBox is a stereo audio system featuring an industrial dock for iPod with a 3.5mm line in connection for MP3, CD, PC and other audio devices. Connections are also provided for iPod synchronization with your Mac or PC.
